The Best Choices in Intimate Apparel

Alright ladies, a quick lesson for all of you here: there is lingerie and there is intimate apparel and the differences between the two can be very subtle indeed. After all, there are bras and panties that fit in each category, and some that could technically qualify in either. Think about the many designs and beautiful items that you could wear and you might start being overwhelmed. After all, how do you know if your choice is lingerie or intimate apparel when technically both mean the same thing?

Intimate apparel is a little more revealing, something you would wear for evening wear, comfort and for seduction, while daily wear lingerie is more substantial, used for support and to make your day clothes look better. Now that you have a better idea of which is which, we can start looking at your lingerie choices.

Bras and panties are the most common set in both intimate apparel and lingerie. Day to day bra and panties should have enough support to keep your breasts lifted and separated, while the panties should not be of any color that will show through the clothing you are wearing. Intimate apparel bra and panty sets can be very filmy, even see through if you dare or practically any color you could imagine.

Slips, camisoles and chemises can be worn under dresses and skirts, however, they have to be of the right material and the right color or they will stand out too much. Remember that silken camisoles or other items can ride up under certain skirts and may be even worse under a dress where they will be very, very noticeable.

Nighties, baby dolls and negligees are a great choice in intimate apparel because they are so comfortable to wear and can be so very sexy. There are other choices in intimate apparel, many of which are not going to be comfortable for day to day wear but may look great for an evening “in”. These include teddies, corsets and bustiers which while sexy for women of every shape and size, are not always handy or appropriate to wear day to day.
